VSU Residentials
VSU Residentials offer you the opportunity to meet other volunteers from different VSU centres and take part in a range of workshops and team building activities. The programme varies but may include workshops on First Aid, Sign Language, Managing Challenging Behaviour, Personal Safety, Child Protection, Using Arts & Crafts and Communication Skills - to name but a few! Team building sessions may involve you carrying raw eggs round a low ropes course or making a rope triangle whilst blindfolded!
We've used different venues over the last year including Halls Green Dorton House and Buckmore Park. All your food, accomodation and activities are included in the nominal costs under £10, what a bargain!
Training residentials are a great way to meet new people - many young volunteers exchange phone numbers and stay in touch afterwards - and an even better way of clocking up your target volunteer hours all in one go! So don't worry about not knowing anyone when you go - by the end you'll know everyone!
